Thai PM arrives in Japan for 4th Mekong-Japan Summit
BANGKOK, April 20 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra arrived at Japan's Haneda Airport late on Thursday night to attend the 4th Mekong-Japan Summit in Tokyo, scheduled for April 20-22.
The Japan Business Federation and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a luncheon for Premier Yingluck and other national leaders from the Greater Mekong Sub-region at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on Friday, during which Yingluck and other GMS leaders delivered three-minute-long speeches each.
At 3.30pm Friday afternoon local time, the Thai and other GMS leaders are scheduled to have an audience with the Japanese Emperor at the Imperial Palace in the Japanese capital.
The Thai premier and other regional leaders will later attend a dinner banquet hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda at the Akasaka Palace.
The Thai prime minister's entourage during her ongoing trip to Japan includes Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Ministers Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Niwatthamrong Bunsong-pai-san and Nalinee Taveesin, Deputy Transport Minister Chatchart Sitthipan and her only son Supasek Amornchat.
