Thai PM to attend “Future of Asia” conference in Japan

BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will pay a working visit to Japan from May 22-25 to attend the 19th International Conference on the Future of Asia and to have bilateral talks with her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe. As invited by Nikkei Inc., Yingluck will deliver her speech on “Investing in the Future of Asia" at the 19th International Conference on the Future of Asia, in which she will raise possible challenges and obstacles to the ongoing and strong growth of Asia and will also introduce solutions to the challenges and obstacles. Nikkei and Japan Center for Economic Research organize “the Future of Asia” conference annually to support the development and security of Asia, with participants consisting of heads of governments and important private agencies worldwide. During her upcoming visit to Japan, the second in two years, the Thai prime minister will also hold bilateral talks with her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe to boost bilateral relations between Bangkok and Tokyo in all dimensions, covering promoting confidence in Thailand among Japanese business operators and Thai-Japanese economic partnership. The prime minister will also discuss Japanese business facilitation in Thailand and cooperation on the development of the Dawei special economic zone in Myanmar. Those who accompany the Thai prime minister during her forthcoming four-day trip to Japan include medium-sized entrepreneurs and producers of outstanding Thai products so that they can inspect product development and marketing in Japan. Premier Yingluck will also be granted an audience with Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito during her stay in Tokyo. (TNA)
