Thai PM calls for unity in 2014 New Year message

BANGKOK, January 1 (TNA) - Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra calls for optimism in her 2014 New Year message via Facebook, calling for unity and concerted effort to bring forward peaceful political transition. In her first New Year message, Yingluck said she will work hard at reconciliation, and to protect the country and monarchy, but warned that the challenges ahead were considerable. Yingluck also said under the auspices of Their Majesties the Kind and Queen, she wished the country a very happy New Year and lasting peace. (TNA)
