Thai PM finishes flood prevention trip
BANGKOK, Feb 17 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has finished her five-day flood prevention trip in river basins, after chairing a meeting with authorities concerned in the central Ayutthaya Province this morning to discuss flood prevention for downstream areas, including Bangkok.
Yingluck asked the concerned authorities at the meeting, including those of Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani , Samut Sakhon , Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao and even Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra to cooperate on flood prevention, promising that the government will support their work.
The prime minister went to the Bang Sai Royal Craft and Art Center in Ayutthaya on Thursday (Feb 16) to discuss flood prevention plans for eight upper central plain provinces, including Ayutthaya, Prachin Buri, Sing Buri, Ang Thong , Lop Buri, Saraburi, Nakhon Nayok and Suphan Buri, and then listened to flood prevention plans of local industrial sites hit by inundations late last year, whose industrialists expressed their satisfaction with the government's flood prevention plans and confirmed they would not relocate their production bases from Thailand.
