Thai PM inaugurates National Children’s Day

BANGKOK, January 12 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra presided over the opening of the National Children’s Day 2013 at Sanam Suapa ground in Bangkok on Saturday morning, which was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Royal Thai Police. Accompanied by her only son, Yingluck said the objective of organising the fair is to enable every sector in Thailand to realise the significance of children and youths and to allow them to display their talents in constructive wayS, realise their responsibilities, uphold discipline and have positive thinking. Yingluck acknowledged that her government has laid out strategies aimed at developing children and youths to encourage them to stay away from narcotics and to become a good example for the society and the country. Meanwhile, more than 100 government and private agencies are sponsoring children activities at the Sanam Suapa ground; while similar activities are also being organised for children and youths in all other provinces nationwide.(TNA)
