Thai PM Orders Intensifying Narcotic Suppression In Far South

BANGKOK, April 26 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered police to intensify narcotic prevention and suppression, as well as security operations in the Thai deep South. Yingluck issued the order while chairing a meeting of the National Police Commission in Bangkok Thursday morning, saying that the southern police should seriously suppress narcotics, as recent raids at the central prison of Nakhon Si Thammarat province found a number of illicit drugs and objects. Besides, the Thai premier told the southern police to boost security operations in the troubled Thai far South to protect local people. (TNA)
