Thai PM orders police to seriously suppress drugs, human trafficking
BANGKOK, October 3 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered police to seriously prevent and suppress narcotics and human trafficking, as well as other illicit businesses, announcing that in the tenure of her government, police must not buy positions.
Yingluck laid down the policies to police at the Police Club in Bangkok Wednesday morning, during which newly-appointed national police chief and his deputies, as well as police commissioners and police commanders were present.
The prime minister told provincial police commanders to cooperate with provincial governors on drug suppression and also asked nationwide police to serve people in their respective areas and adhere to honesty, apart from actively cracking down human trafficking and narcotics.
Besides, the prime minister told the police to facilitate traffic flows when there are heavy downpours and floods to support and relieve the burdens of other agencies and people’s hardships. (TNA)
