Thai PM Presides Over MCOT’s 35th Anniversary
BANGKOK, April 25 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra Wednesday presided over an event to auspiciously mark the 60th anniversary of Thai Television Company Limited and the 35th anniversary of its successor, the Mass Communications Organization of Thailand (MCOT), which is now listed MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT).
Premier Yingluck was received by Chairman of the MCOT board Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuwan, Vice Chairman and Acting President Chakraphan Yomchinda, as well as other MCOT’s executives upon her arrival at the company's headquarters in Bangkok.
Yingluck then observed exhibitions showcasing the development of MCOT's broadcasting equipment, including those used during the operation of now-defunct Thai Television Channel 4, and the history of the Thai Television Company Limited.
At MCOT's studio No. 6, the Pheu Thai premier was briefed by the Acting MCOT President on the company's upgraded news programs, themes and crew under its Thai News Agency (TNA), MCOT's main news production structure.
The Thai prime minister also witnessed the launch of an MCOT helicopter to be used for its newly-introduced bird’s eye news program. (TNA)
