Thai police seek arrest warrant against more suspect in Bangkok's blasts

BANGKOK, Feb 17 (TNA) - Thai police are gathering more evidence to soon seek the Criminal Court's approval of an additional arrest warrant against the fifth suspect, in the wake of a spate of three bomb blasts on Sukhumvit 71 (สุขุมวิท 71) Road in Bangkok on February 14. Thai Deputy National Police Chief Police General Pansiri Prapawat, who oversees the case, has ordered the police investigators to gather more evidence against the fifth suspect, a person believed to have connection with four Iranians who have already been charged. Bangkok's Criminal Court on Thursday issued arrest warrants against the four Iranians on various charges in relation to the bomb blasts last Tuesday. Two Iranian suspects were earlier arrested, including 28-year-old Saeid Moradi, who has lost his two legs from his own grenade, and another suspect, 42-year-old Mohammad Hazaei, who was captured at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport, hours after the bombing incidents, while he was boarding a plane to neighbouring Malaysia. A third Iranian suspect, identified as Masoud Sedaghatzadeh, was arrested on February 15 by Malaysian authorities in Kuala Lumpur and a fourth suspect, also an Iranian national identified as Rohani Leila, has reportedly returned to Tehran, Iran's capital.(TNA)
