Thai Princess confers S.E.A. WRITE Award 2011

BANGKOK, Feb 17 (TNA) - Eight Southeast Asian writers have been conferred Southeast Asian Writers Award (S.E.A. Write Award) 2011 in recognition of their excellent literary works. Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand on Thursday presented the S.E.A. Write Award to the eight writers in a ceremony held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. The writers winning the S.E.A. Write Award are those from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Established in 1979, the S.E.A. Write Award is the region’s most prestigious literary event. Dr. Edwin Thumboo, the first Singaporean to win the Award, was invited to be a keynote speaker on the S.E.A. Write Award and development of literary in Southeast Asia at the gracious ceremony. (TNA)
