LONDON, July 28 (TNA) - Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn attended the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London Friday night, or around 2am (Thailand's time) Saturday morning, on behalf of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who arrived in London on July 26, one day before the 30th Summer Olympics kicked off, told Thai athletes at a hotel in London, just hours after her arrival in the United Kingdom's capital, to perform their best at the Olympics and to always observe moral spirits of athletes, no matter they win or lose in the Games, to promote national image and reputation internationally.
The Princess also advised that the Thai athletes learn and adopt their experiences from the London Olympics for personal and national gains in the future.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom presided over the extravaganza inaugural ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics, scheduled for July 27-August 12.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is scheduled to return to Bangkok today. (TNA)
