Thai students bring fames to nation at IOAA

BANGKOK, August 15 (TNA) - Thai students have, again, brought fames to the nation by winning one gold and three bronzes, as well as a prestige announcement from the 6th International Astrophysics and Astronomy Olympiad (IOAA), held in Brazil from August 4-14. The Promotion of Academic Olympiads and Development of Science Education Foundation of Thailand, under the Royal Patronage of late Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, announced the good news Wednesday, saying that the Thai youths had competed with students from 26 other countries at the 2012 IOAA in Rio De Jainero. According to the foundation, Thailand's status was, thus, been ranked the world's sixth at the 6th IOAA. The Thai Olympiad high-school-level winners, from Suankularb Wittayalai, Triam Udom Suksa and Samsen Wittayalai Schools in Bangkok and Loei Pittayakom School in the northeastern Loei province, are scheduled to arrive at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport on August 16, at around 12:25pm local time.
