Thailand, Bhutan sign MoU on health cooperation
BANGKOK, March 3 (TNA) -- Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening health cooperation between the two countries.
The MoU was signed Friday by Thai Miniser of Public Health Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn and Bhutanese Health Minister Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk at the Thai Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi.
The signing agreement was witnessed by Bhutanese ambassador to Thailand Tshewang Chophel Dorji and senior officers of the two countries.
Under the agreement, the two countries will review the existing health cooperation, signed in 1987, and expand the cooperation in 11 new branches, said Dr Piyasakol.
The 11 new branches include disease control, testing medicine quality, traditional medicine, and medicine products and cosmetics.
Also, the Thai Public Health Ministry will offer scholarships to two Bhutanese medical students to study in masters’ and doctorate degrees in Thailand and to give treatment to patients having complex diseases. (TNA)
