Thailand, Cambodia developing good relations
BANGKOK, April 26 (TNA) - Thailand and Cambodia have signed an agreement, resulting from their latest regional border committee meeting, to boost bilateral relations.
Vice Admiral Sonthaya Noichaya, Chairman of the Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee (RBC) for the Thai side, told journalists on Friday, after the 14th Thai-Cambodian RBC meeting, that both sides exchanged views on the border situation and agreed to develop bilateral relations at all levels, as well as to increasingly cooperate in several areas, including crime and narcotic suppression.
Vice Admiral Sonthaya said that the agreement also covers bilateral cooperation on boundaries, security, peace-keeping operations along the Thai-Cambodian border, economy, society, public health, environment and law enforcement.
General Yuang, Chairman of the Thai-Cambodian RBC for the Cambodian side, then told reporters that both sides, as two member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), agreed to boost bilateral cooperation to support the formation of the ASEAN Community (AC) by 2015 and to maintain peace for the well-being of their people.
