Thailand, Cambodia hold new JBC meeting
BANGKOK, February 13 (TNA) - Thailand and Cambodia are holding their Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) here from February 13-14 to discuss progress on their aerial and demarcation surveys.
At the 5th Thai-Cambodian JBC Meeting, Bandit Sotthipalarit heads the Thai delegation, comprising representatives from the Royal Thai Survey Department and the Directorate of Operations, while Var Kim Hong, Cambodia’s Senior Minister in charge of State Border Affairs, leads the Cambodian delegation and co-chairs the two-day session.
According to Thai Foreign Ministry Spokesman Thani Thongpakdi, who is also Director-General of the ministry's Department of Information, the meeting would also discuss Cambodia’s proposal on opening the Stueng Bot border crossing between Thailand's eastern Sa Kaeo Province and Cambodia's Banteay Meanchey Province, along with progress in the border demarcation, the installation of border markers 1-23 and aerial photography.
The heads of both sides are scheduled to hold a joint press conference after the conclusion of the 5th Thai-Cambodian JBC Meeting tomorrow. (TNA)
