Thailand develops integrated security surveillance cameras

BANGKOK, August 28 (TNA) - Thailand has developed integrated surveillance cameras which enable swift responses to untoward incidents. Accompanied by authorities concerned, namely Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok, Information and Communication Technology Minister Anudith Nakornthap, Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan and Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Phurisisak, Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra visited the national center of surveillance cameras at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok on Wednesday. The center integrates the networks of surveillance cameras nationwide, including those in the violence-plagued Thai far South. If a camera covers a bombing, a supervisor can report the incident and alert concerned authorities to arrest a suspect right away. The Thai premier had seen such the integrated surveillance camera systems in the United States and Britain and later ordered Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul to develop such the system in Thailand for the sake of national security, especially in major cities.
