Thailand, first country in ASEAN to introduce Smart Fuel-up system
BANGKOK, January 16 (TNA) - Thailand has become the first country in South East Asia to introduce the Smart Fuel-up system, which is expected to reduce refueling frauds and cut expenses of organizations by 20 per cent.
PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, installed the system at a petrol station of its headquarters in Bangkok.
The system, which has been applied in over 30 countries worldwide, could also reduce refueling time by 30 percent.
PTT, which has developed the system together with Kasikornbank (KBank) to first serve customers using refueling cards, announced that it will install the system to 60 petrol stations this year and 200 stations nationwide next year.
Meanwhile, PTT President and Chief Executive Officer or CEO Pailin Chuchottaworn told reporters that PTT will keep increasing its investment in the 10-member ASEAN bloc and dealership offices of PTT International Ltd and PTT Polymer Marketing Co have been opened in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, to sell crude oil and plastic pellets.
PTT is now the second largest crude oil wholesaler in Indonesia, with expanding investment projects, including those concerning palm plantations, coal, refineries and petrochemicals, to respond to the high-potential, growing Indonesian economy with a total of some 250 million consumers. (TNA)
