Thailand hosts 23rd International Congress of Judicial Officers

BANGKOK, May 2 (TNA) -- Thailand hosts the 23rd International Congress of Judicial Officers to exchange best practices in judicial work and shape the answers on how to guarantee secure and sustainable justice amidst global challenges. The event gathers about 400 participants from about 50 countries who discuss work improvement in response to globalization and digital assets. Opening the congress which happens for the first time in Thailand and Asia, Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Juntong said the congress was an important occasion for worldwide judicial officers to exchange opinions and discuss challenges including those related to globalization and digital developments. He also said that Thailand had improved laws to suit changing social and economic conditions, streamline legal execution procedures, cut legal execution costs, cope with new forms of assets and prevent tactics to delay legal execution. Given the legal amendments, the World Bank moved the Doing Business ranking of Thailand up by 17 positions to the 34th ranking. The World Bank attributed it to faster legal execution due to electronic systems and streamlined procedures, ACM Prajin said. (TNA)
