Thailand introduces educational software Eva-Ed
BANGKOK, June 24 (TNA) - Thailand's Office of the Education Council (ONEC) has introduced a new educational software, named Eva-Ed, in which thousands of researches are gathered for users.
The introduction of the Eva-Ed innovative software took place on Monday at the International Conference of Education, being held at the Centara Grand Hotel from June 23-25. The ONEC also agreed with the the National Statistical Office (NSO) to use statistics to develop indicators of Thai education.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Pongthep Thepkanchana presided over a ceremony, during which the ONEC and the NSO signed an agreement for the use of statistics for the evaluation of Thai education.
On the occasion, Pongthep said that the ONEC will use statistics to develop educational indicators, which complies with national educational strategies and enhances national competitiveness in the long run.
According to the minister, the Eva-Ed software allows users to reach thousands of researches and copy them, facilitating the examination of achievements and ratings of Thai educational institutes.
At the ongoing three-day conference, educational experts in Asia and the Pacific, as well as those from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also exchange knowledge and consider cooperation on educational development.
The international conference, meanwhile, addressed the development of English-language education to prepare students for the integrated labor market in the ASEAN Community (AC), set to be formed by 2015.
The topic involves the Thai Ministry of Education's ONEC, the British Council, the British embassy to Thailand and the Secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The conference also looks into the development of a framework on ASEAN’s national qualifications to facilitate regional workers' movements after the AC is formed. (TNA)
