Thailand, Japan are solving danger-prone roads
BANGKOK, Nov 14 (TNA) -- Officials of the Department of Rural Roads and the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) are solving danger-prone road sections in Nakhon Ratchasima and Pathum Thani provinces.
Senior Thai transport officials and counterparts from MLIT inspected road number 3052 in Wang Nam Khieo district of Nakhon Ratchasima province and road number 3004 in Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani to improve traffic safety there.
The roads were selected as pilot areas to implement a bilateral cooperation project on road safety. Solutions there will be models for road safety campaigns elsewhere.
The delegation that went to Nakhon Ratchasima and Pathum Thani included Sarawoot Songwilai, inspector-general of the Thai Ministry of Transport and, Samai Chotisakul, deputy director-general of the Department of Rural Roads.
The department will fix danger-prone road sections before the upcoming New Year travel spree and will evaluate the solutions within next February for future road safety planning. (TNA)
