Thailand sends TIP Report 2018 to United States

BANGKOK, February 11 (TNA) - The Thai government has sent the country's report on trafficking in persons (TIP Report) in 2018 to the United States and is drafting a progress report for the first quarter of this year. Social Development and Human Security Minister General Anantaporn Kanjanarat told journalists on Monday, stating that the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already sent the country's TIP Report 2018 in English to the US Embassy in Bangkok since January 2019. The minister said that the submission of Thailand's TIP Report 2018 to the US Embassy in the capital followed Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha's approval of last year's TIP Report, earlier submitted by his ministry. "My ministry earlier submitted Thailand's TIP Report 2018 in both the Thai and English versions to the prime minister for his consideration and approval. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs was then authorized to review the papers before submitting the English version to the US Embassy in Bangkok in late January this year for its further procedures", the minister explained. According to the minister his ministry is now working out Thailand's progress report on trafficking in persons for the first quarter of this year. (TNA)
