Thailand wins more Olympic medal from women's taekwondo

BANGKOK, August 9 (TNA) - Thailand has won more medal from the ongoing London Olympics, after Chanatip Sonkham grabbed a bronze medal in the women's taekwondo in the under-49kg category for the Kingdom on Wednesday. Twenty-one-year-old Chanatip, nicknamed "Nong Lek", beat Guatemala's Elizabeth Zamora 8-0 to bring the first bronze medal to Thailand, but the second Olympic medal for the nation. Earlier, 22-year-old Thai female weightlifter Pimsiri Sirikaew won silver, the first medal for Thailand, at the London Olympic Games in the women's weightlifting 58kg division on July 30. (TNA)
