Thailand's Caretaker FM to visit China, SKorea, Japan

BANGKOK, March 20 (TNA) - Thailand's Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul is scheduled to visit major Eastern Asian economies, including China, South Korea and Japan, over the next two weeks, aimed to draw back international business operators and visitors to the Kingdom. Surapong announced his planned trips to the key Eastern Asian countries in Bangkok, after briefing diplomats from 60 invited foreign embassies in Thailand, 21 of them are ambassadors themselves and four of them are representatives of Bangkok-based offices of international organizations, on updates related to the caretaker government's revocation of the emergency decree enforcement, effective from March 19, in all areas in Bangkok and neighbouring Nonthaburi Province, as well as some areas in a few other adjacent provinces on Wednesday. Surapong told journalists that he and his entourage, including caretaker ministers of many concerned ministries, will meet with representatives of parties concerned to provide them with updated and proper information after the revocation of the emergency decree in order to create confidence in Thailand among officials, business operators and travelers during his visits to the three countries, where a large number of business persons and tourist arrivals in the Thai Kingdom have dropped due to domestic political protesters since last October.
