Thailand's demonstrators urged to enter into negotiations
BANGKOK, November 6 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has called for political demonstrators to enter into negotiations for the sake of national progress.
Surapong also urged on Wednesday that the political protesters care for low-income earners and help protect the national tourism, economy and image.
Surapong said he understands that a demonstration is people's fundamental right stated in the Constitution, but demonstrators should also respect others’ rights.
The deputy prime minister made the remarks after nine countries have issued advisories for their people about travels to Thailand due to ongoing protests against the government-backed amnesty bill in Bangkok and provincial areas.
According to the deputy prime minister, the advisories come from two countries in America, including Canada and Brazil, four countries in Europe, including the United Kingdom, France, Austria and Sweden, and two others in East Asia, including Japan and Taiwan, in which their governments recommend their people to avoid demonstration venues in Thailand.
The deputy prime minister revealed that Israel has told its people to avoid both areas of demonstrations and areas under the imposition of the Internal Security Act (ISA), while other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have not issued any advisory. (TNA)
