Thailand's king makes public appearance on 86th birthday

BANGKOK, December 5 (TNA) - His Majesty the King of Thailand made public appearance on Thursday at Klai Kangwon Palace, Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, on his 86th birthday, and urged the people of his nation to adhere to their duties well for the sake of national security. His Majesty the King arrived at the Rachapracha Samakhom pavilion in the palace in a royal motorcade, greeted by a jubilant crowd of well-wishers shouting the words “Long Live the King”. As the royal ceremony began, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn extended best wishes to His Majesty the King on behalf of the royal family, followed by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, the House Speaker and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Supreme Commander. His Majesty the King said in his address to the nation that Thailand had been in peaceful state for a long time because of the unity and cooperation of the people. His Majesty the King urged people to be well aware of the factors behind the national peace and perform their duties well for the sake of national security that is the public interest. Then His Majesty the King left the Rachapracha Samakhom pavilion past crowds of people who were waiting to greet Him in front of the Klai Kangwon Palace. An 800-meter-long section of Phetkasem Highway in front of the palace is decorated with national flags and the royal flags of His Majesty the King. Three large screens are installed there to live display the ceremony for the royalty, the government, the military and people to extend their best wishes to His Majesty the King on Thursday morning.
