BANGKOK, September 28 (TNA) - Thailand's new National Police Chief Police General Adul Saengsingkaew will officially take office on October 1, 2012, replacing retiring national police chief Police General Priewpan Damapong.
The Royal Thai Police organised a ceremony in Bangkok on Friday during which Police General Priewpan handed over his title to the newly-appointed national police chief, amid a number of police officers from all units who extended his congratulations to their new boss and bid farewell to the outgoing national police chief.
Police General Adul promised that he will do his best in observing his duties and will carry on his predecessor's policies, especially those on the loyalty to the Thai monarchy, as well as drug prevention and suppression and crime crackdowns.
According to the new national police chief, he will also focus on handling and solving persistent insurgency in the Thai far South. (TNA)
