Thailand's software ranked top in ASEAN

BANGKOK, June 21 (TNA) - Thailand's computer software standard has now been ranked top in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the world's 15th, strengthening the Kingdom's potential as a global leader of software producer and exporter. Software Park Thailand and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) have awarded eight Thai software companies the Software Park’s Hall of Fames, for their success in developing their computer software systems to meet the internationally-recognized Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) standard. NSTDA President Thaweesak Koanantakool said on Wednesday that the Hall of Fames Award is aimed at stimulating the steady development of Thailand's software systems and industry, acknowledging that Thai software produce has already been recognised as the world’s premium innovative product with affordable prices; so, continual support from all parties concerned will make the locally-produced software become one of top Thai export items in the foreseeable future.
