Thais urged to follow HM King’s advice for national peace

BANGKOK, January 2 (TNA) - Thai people have been urged to follow His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's advice in his New Year speech on December 31. General Prem Tinsulanonda, Thailand's Statesman and President of the Privy Council, made the call on Thursday, when he welcomed well-wishers on the occasion of the New Year at his Si Sao Thewet residence in Bangkok. General Prem, who is also a former Thai prime minister, told the well-wishers that His Majesty the King’s New Year 2014 speech was short but very meaningful; so, people should carefully consider it and follow it for national peace. During his New Year speech, the beloved and revered Thai monarch extended his best wishes and blessings to all Thais for their happiness, prosperity and success in whatever they wish for. His Majesty the King also called on Thais to pay great attention to collective interest and Thainess. (TNA)
