There are new opportunities for co-op between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan: Zhaparov

Bishkek, June 28, 2021 . / Kabar / . "There are new promising opportunities between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in the areas of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as full mutual understanding and closeness of positions on a number of topical international and regional issues, including issues of peace, security, fighting new challenges and threats," Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov said Monday during an extended bilateral talks with Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedow in Ashgabat.
The two leaders discussed topical issues of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen bilateral cooperation, interaction in trade and economic, fuel and energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are close friends, strategic partners and brotherly countries.
"Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation is developing dynamically, there are no political contradictions between our countries. In recent years the friendly and brotherly relations between our countries based on centuries-old history, common traditions, language and cultural and spiritual heritage have reached a new level of long-term strategic cooperation. The bilateral treaty and legal base, including documents in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, is progressively increasing," the president said.
The Kyrgyz leader expressed hope for the wide participation of Turkmen business in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Zhaparov added that one of the promising areas of cooperation is interaction in the field of tourism, the light industry has also great potential.
The president of Kyrgyzstan once again confirmed that further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation on a wide range of Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations fully meets the interests of the two countries. and invited Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedow to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
