Three Strategic Plans Discussed During TNI Leadership Meeting

Jakarta, Dec 22 (Antara) - Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Chief General Moeldoko opened the TNI Leadership Meeting 2015 at the Cilangkap TNI Headquarters on Monday to discuss three strategic plans. After opening the meeting, Moeldoko explained that the three strategic plans for 2012-2019 will cover development and improvement of TNI`s capabilities, welfare, and the handling of the military arsenal system (Alutsista). "We are going to improve the welfare of military soldiers in terms of their salaries, housing, and health," the TNI chief noted. In addition, he noted that as part of the second phase of the strategic plan, a significant amount of funds will be allocated to improve the military armament systems. "We have acquired a lot of sophisticated and expensive military armament systems, and now, we have a strategic plan to take care of them and to improve them," he remarked. Moeldoko stated that the development of TNI`s Minimum Essential Forces (MEF) during the first phase of the strategic plan for the 2010-2014 period has reached 38 percent of the development of TNI`s strength and capabilities. However, he pointed out that it has yet to further improve TNI`s welfare and the existing armament systems. Therefore, he affirmed that the three strategic plans were discussed during the TNI leadership meeting in a bid to increase TNI`s professionalism, strength, and prosperity.
