PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ALSO SATISFIED
Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office decided for annulment in the investigation launched upon allegations of coding scandal in Passage to Higher Education Examination. The office said, "there is coding but there is not anybody who used it." However, the prosecutor asked for permission from Higher Board of Education (YOK) to open an investigation against Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) head Ali Demir and some officials on charges of negligence of mission.
ONE CITY TO EACH SIDE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said one city would be built in Anatolian side and another would be built in European side of Istanbul, in the shores of the Black Sea in which 1-1.5 million people would live.
Erdogan said machines would start to work one year after the elections. He said route of the third bridge would pass from that region, noting that, "we are building those two cities aiming at urban transformation".

Speaking to Milliyet daily newspaper, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli said, "Fethullah Gulen's returning to Turkey will be beneficial for Turkey to make a robust assessment." Bahceli said he was sorry about the tape scandal, and said, "Turkey has been imprisoned in the Erdogan-Gulen-Ocalan triangle." Bahceli said he was not thinking of filing a lawsuit to find those who leaked out the records.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his party had begun initiatives to set up two new cities each with 1 million population in the Anatolian and European sides of Istanbul. The city in the European side will be established in Uskumrukoy, on the bank of the Black Sea, and will spread to 40,000 hectares. Erdogan said these cities would start to be established within a year following the June 12th general elections, and they would be on the route of the third bridge planned to be constructed on the Istanbul Strait.

The current deficit, which was much more than the expectations, rose to 9.7 billion USD in March. The annual current deficit climbed over 60 billion USD. The current deficit rose because foreign companies started to transfer their profit abroad, and shuttle trade started to decline.

Prosecutor Sadan Sakinan, contrary to Student Selection & Placement Center (OSYM), said there was coding, however defended that no irregularity that would have a negative effect on the result of the examination could be assessed.
Sakinan decided for annulment in the investigation, yet underlined that OSYM Head and other officials did not show necessary care regarding the reliability of the examination during the implementation.
AWARD FROM IPI TO ZEYNEP ORAL
Journalist of Daily Cumhuriyet won "Press Freedom Dialogue" award of International Press Institute. IPI Director Alison Bethel McKenzie said they were pleased to announce that Zeynep Oral was the first owner of the award, noting there would not be anybody who deserve the award more than Zeynep Oral.
The award would be presented to Oral in "Dialogue for Freedom of Press" night in Vienna on June 14.

If Karamehmet-Kazanci consortium cannot reach 4.8 billion in the electricity tender, the budget will be harmed. Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz gave a bad news to Karamehmet-Kazanci consortium that could not pay 1.2 billion USD. Yildiz said they would not give an additional time to the consortium to make the payment for the Bogazici and Anatolian Side electricity distribution bid.

Besiktas (The Eagles) won the Ziraat Turkey Cup for the ninth time by defeating Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyespor 6-5 in penalty shoots, and won a ticket for European matches.

Ali Demir, the chairman of the Student Selection & Placement Center (OSYM), was once more the actor of a scandal when he believed in a person who said, "I am the adviser of Minister Hayati Yazici." "Bogus adviser" called Demir on October 25, 2010 and left his e-mail. Then the two exchanged e-mails, and Demir informed the Higher Election Board (YOK) chairman about the e-mail that requested an influential favor. The response was, "do not take it seriously."
Ali Demir has a final request from YOK, which shed a green light to the prosecutor's demand to launch an investigation "on charges of neglecting the duties". Demir has requested that he make another examination, prove himself, and then leave the office.
