HERE IS THAT DEATH HOUSE
Hurriyet daily newspaper entered in the shelter house in Abbottabad, Pakistan where al-Qaida's leader Osama bin Laden was killed in a night raid by U.S. naval commandos. 
There are not any traces of a huge clash in the house, but there are only traces of small bullets on walls. 
Residents of Bilal neighborhood cannot believe that they were living side-by-side with the number-one terrorist of the world. Resident say, "children used to call this place 'a haunted house.' The Americans have killed him in Afghanistan but they have shot a Hollywood film to put Pakistan in a hard situation."

AL-GADHAFI SHOULD LEAVE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "there is nothing more to say in Libya issue. (Libyan leader Muammar) al-Gadhafi should leave his post immediately, and fulfil his historical and humanitarian responsibility." Erdogan also said, "we have thought about the human lives in Libya, not the oil wells as some others did. Our aim was not to gain any influence."

GADDAFI MUST STEP DOWN
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey has been in touch with Tripoli government in regard to Libya unrest from the very beginning. Erdogan said that initiatives that have been carried out by Turkey with common sense were ignored. Erdogan said, "Libyan leader Gaddafi must immediately withdraw from the administration and fulfil historical responsibility."

10,000 PROTEST RAIDS ON MUNICIPALITIES
Nearly 10,000 people gathered in Konak and protested police raid on municipalities in western province of Izmir. Izmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu addressing the crowd said that if there was corruption and malpractice in these municipalities, he would answer for it. "10 of 24 people who were taken into custody were released. We want the others to be released, too," he said.

PHONE CALL THAT WAKES UP HEADS OF STATE
As the danger in Libya grew, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu first called Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at midnight. After such call, the minister also woke Turkish President Abdullah Gul up around 1 a.m. and got the permission to close down the Turkish embassy in Tripoli. Upon Gul's approval, the staff of the Turkish embassy proceeded to Tunisia from Libya.

ERDOGAN: GADDAFI SHOULD QUIT
Prime Minister Erdogan made a historic call to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. "There is nothing left to say on the Libyan issue. Gaddafi should step down right away. It is time that he took this historic step for the sake of Libya's future," the Turkish premier said.

THE MOMENT WHEN GERONIMO WAS SHOT DEAD
The United States used the alias "Geronimo"--the last American Indian who caused trouble for the United States for years-- to define al-Qaida's leader Osama bin Laden. The U.S. president and his aides watched every second of the operation in which Laden was killed.

"LEAVE THE COUNTRY"
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan broke ties with Libyan leader Muammar al-Gadhafi. Erdogan said, "he did not take our warning into consideration and he attacked his own people. There are nothing to be said from now on, he should leave the office."

OSYM LOCKED
Hundreds of teenagers rushed to Ankara to object to the result of their first-leg university entrance exam. After giving petitions to the Student Selection & Replacement Center (OSYM), students opened banners and protested the developments saying that the results were not accurate. A teenager named Ismail Karakus filed a lawsuit for cancellation of the examination, saying that it was against the principle of equality to run a separate science test for 130 candidate university students who were in prisons.

TURKEY RETURNS TO DARK OLD DAYS
On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, the Freedom to Journalists Platform organized a congress which was attended by representatives of international press organizations. During the congress, the platform's term president Ercan Ipekci called on the Turkish prime minister, who introduces journalists as terrorists, to "change his attitude". Chris Conybeare, Secretary General of The World Association of Press Councils (WAPC), also said his organization was sorry to see that Turkey was returning to dark old days.

FILTER TO INTERNET, IRANIAN STYLE
With a new regulation concerning internet services, the state will decide on the web-sites to be visited by internet users. Accordingly, users will have to chose one of the four filter options to be presented and they will face serious penalties if such limits are exceeded.

ERDOGAN BURNS BRIDGES WITH GADDAFI
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that there was nothing more to say in Libya and Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi must take a historic step. Erdogan said Gaddafi must immediately step down "for the sake of his country's future." Premier Erdogan said that initiatives carried out by Turkey were ignored by Tripoli administration. "We wish that the Libyan leader immediately withdraw from the administration and leave Libya for his own sake and the sake of his country's future without leading to further destruction," he said.

DINK FAMILY COMPLAINS
Family of slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink had a meeting with State Supervisory Council last week. Dink's family complained that National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Security Department and Gendarme did not take necessary steps for the case.

OURS IS A CANAL, THEIRS IS A TUNNEL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a reference to his party's latest "Canal Istanbul" project while commenting on Republican People's Party's deputy candidates who are suspects in the ongoing Ergenekon case. Erdogan said that the nation was the leading force for Justice and Development (AK) Party, not the mafia or gangs. Claiming that CHP desired to rescue Ergenekon suspects, the prime minister said, "we are preparing the 'Canal Istanbul' project while they are trying to dig a tunnel to Silivri (prison)".

PRIME MINISTER CALLS ON GADDAFI TO BACK OFF
Prime Minister Erdogan warned Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi whose son and three grandchildren have recently been killed in a NATO operation. "We want justice for the Libyan nation. Gaddafi should fulfill his moral responsibility and step down immediately," Erdogan said.

DEMOCRACY AND ERGENEKON CANNOT BE MEASURED ON SAME SCALE
Speaking in a meeting of the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON), Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "you should be the voice and rebel against status quo in Anatolia." Erdogan addressed businessmen as saying, "you have reached this dimension by taking the support of the nation, not gangs." The prime minister reacted strongly to the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) who have nominated suspects of Ergenekon case as candidate MPs. Erdogan said, "those who protect gangs can never become democrats."

PROSECUTOR TO INVESTIGATE MAY 1 AND MARAS INCIDENTS
Murat Demir, a prosecutor in Ankara investigating the September 12, 1980 military intervention, has also launched an investigation into those that laid down the ground for a military intervention. The prosecutor's office took into consideration the remarks of coup leaders who said, "the nation was not ready for a martial law idea in mid-1970s. We have waited for the conditions to get mature by monitoring the incidents till the fall of 1980." In this context, the prosecutor's office will include "bloody May 1" (1977) and the Maras incidents (1978) in the investigation.

PREMIER ERDOGAN ON LIBYA
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey would always be on the side of Libyan people. "Our stance is completely humanistic," he said. Erdogan said words failed in Libya and called on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi once again to step down immediately. "A new era has begun in Libya. Tripoli administration must fulfil humane responsibility immediately," Erdogan said. 

GASOLINE PRICES UP
The latest developments in the world also affected gasoline prices. The prices of 95 and 97 octane gasoline were increased by 0.09 Turkish lira or 9 kurus on Tuesday. The price of 95 octane gasoline was risen to 4.32 a liter.
