Traffic honours drivers for their commitment to the law

Manama, Jan. 16(BNA): Director-General of Traffic, Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa has honoured some drivers for their commitment to the traffic rules. The traffic control room spotted the good driving practices of the honorees through the smart cameras. He said that the Thank You initiative launched recently by the department aims to inform the community that the majority of drivers follow the traffic rules and violators would bear the consequences. He highlighted that the smart systems strive to ensure smooth traffic flow and limiting traffic accidents through high monitoring standards. The honorees were selected randomly among drivers who were spotted following the rules, such as the speed limits, not crossing the red signals and the regulations of the Yellow Boxes. He said that they were acknowledged for their positive roles in promoting traffic safety. He said that the Thank You initiative would continue along with the awareness campaigns to reach out to the public in a powerful way to promote the commitment to the law culture in society.
