Tribute to HM the King for supporting the health sector

Manama, Oct.9 (BNA): National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mariam Athbi Al-Jalahma paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, marking the issuance of royal decree 46 of 2018, reappointing her as NHRA Chief for a new term.
In a statement today, she expressed to continue dedicated efforts to enhance the standard of medical services and bolster the sustainability of the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
She extended deepest thanks to HM the King for supporting the health sector, paying tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
The NHRA chief hailed the unwavering support of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.
She underlined NHRA strides in promoting safe health services, encouraging the private sector to invest in the health sector and consolidating the health sustainability in Bahrain, in addition to reviewing and modernising laws.
Dr. Al-Jalahma said that the regulatory authority had launched a string of initiatives that comply with the Fiscal Balance Programme, pointing out that the Cabinet had endorsed a proposal to develop the NHRA revenues.
In the statement, she said that the authority would also play a crucial role, in activating the National Health Insurance Programme (SEHATI), adding that the NHRA would be accountable before the Supreme Council for Health, for licensing hospitals, health establishments, doctors, nurses and technicians.
“The NHRA would also play its role in inspecting hospitals and health establishments and issue certificates of medical accreditation in addition to other tasks”, said Dr. Al-Jalahma.
