Turkey initiates a comprehensive promotion in Egypt
CAIRO (A.A) - Turkey has initiated a wide promotion campaign in Egypt.
Yahya Ozen, Culture & Promotion Undersecretary in Turkish Embassy in Cairo, told A.A on Friday that they put advertisements introducing Turkey on billboards at many squares and streets, especially Tahrir Square in Cairo.
Noting that they aimed to increase the number of Egyptian tourists visiting Turkey, Ozen said that advertisements about Turkey were continuously running in television and radio channels as well as newspapers in Egypt.
Ozen said that the number of Egyptian tourists, who visited Turkey in January-April period in 2011, increased 14.5 percent when compared with the same period of 2010.
Noting that Turkish Culture & Tourism Ministry also attached importance in Egypt, Ozen said that the budget, which was reserved to promote Turkey in Egypt, increased to 350,000 USD this year.
Turkey hosted 16,490 Egyptian tourists in January-April, 2011.
