MASTER STROKE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan brought old and new names together in his 25-member team to rule Turkey. Erdogan announced his "master period" cabinet yesterday. He focused on experienced names in the new cabinet comprised of 26 ministers. Six new names were included in the cabinet while three ministers' posts were changed. Seven names together with Nimet Cubukcu, Vecdi Gonul and Faruk Ozak did not take place in the new cabinet. Fatma Sahin became the only woman minister of the 61st government. Interior Minister, National Defense Minister and National Education minister were changed.
BROTHERHOOD PROJECT ENTRUSTED TO ATALAY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Besir Atalay, one of his deputies, would chair Supreme Board of Counter-Terrorism. Atalay will lead "National Unity and Brotherhood Project". Also, Public Security Undersecretary will work under Atalay, not Interior Ministry.

Istanbul Security Department made an important statement yesterday regarding the match-fixing operation in football. The department said, "match-fixing and incentive pay have been found in a total of 19 games in Super League and Bank Asia first league." The department also said that questions of an exam to select football representatives were stolen and sold by a gang at extremely high prices.

Prime Minister Erdogan has eased the tension that has arisen after Justice and Development (AK) Party deputy group chairman Mustafa Elitas' remarks claiming that Republican People's Party (CHP) deputies, who have not taken the parliamentary oath, would lose their parliament membership after July 15. Erdogan said such statement was a "slip of the tongue".
