Fatma Sik, mother of arrested journalist Ahmet Sik, said that she and her blind husband were together following the developments after his son's arrest. She said, "I lost my brother during the clashes between rightists and leftists before 1980. If something happens to my son, I will burn myself."

TUSIAD CHIEF CALLS FOR MORE WOMEN EMPLOYMENT
Head of the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association Umit Boyner, who is a woman herself, has called for more women participation in the labor force, saying Turkey lagged behind developed countries in women employment. "In 2010 women participation is over 57 percent in developed countries while it is only 24 percent in Turkey," Boyner said. "We need a policy that seeks gender equality yet not from a man's point of view. We need to set strict targets for that matter," she said.
FENERBAHCE RECLAIMS LEAD IN TURKEY PREMIER LEAGUE
Istanbul side Fenerbahce of the Turkish Spor Toto Super League was crowned once again on Monday with leaders title after a strong win of 4-2 against Ankara side Genclerbirligi. Fenerbahce won eight games in a row to collect 24 points from 30 points. Fenerbahce scorers were Lugano, Alex, Niang and Santos.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS SHAMEFULNESS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated March 8 International Women's Day and relayed a clear message: "nobody can legalize violence against women under the name of honor".
Erdogan said, "discrimination against women is something inhumane. Unfortunately, violence against women was always hidden. This is nonsense. We have always protected women who were exposed to violence and we will continue to do so."
HE IS AT UNIVERSITY WITH DECISION OF ECHR
Mursel Eren could not win University Selection Exam for three years. He went to course for one year and he was among the first 100 students who won the university exam in 1997. However, Student Selection and Placement Center did not register his name to the Faculty of Law as his condition was "suspicious".
Eren applied to European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as he could not get a result from his application to Council of State. ECHR said Eren must be given 5,000 euro as compensation and noted, "decision of jurisdiction should be removed and Eren's registration should be done".
OSYM registered him but appealed the case. Council of State Committee said OSYM was found unjust.
