EXPLOSION INJURES 8 IN ISTANBUL
Eight people including a police officer were wounded when a bomb mounted on an electric bicycle exploded Thursday at Istanbul's Etiler district. Two of the wounded were in severe condition as one of them lost a leg and the other sustained heavy burns to her body. "No one can get away with that. We will surely find them. Our people should feel at ease," Istanbul Police Chief Huseyin Capkin told reporters. Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said such terror acts were expected ahead of the June 12 elections.
COURT ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR FIVE MEMBERS OF UZAN FAMILY
A court in Istanbul has issued arrest warrants for five members of the Uzan family in an ongoing case on charges of money laundering. The court issued arrest warrants for Kemal Uzan, Yavuz Uzan, Melahat Uzan, Murat Hakan Uzan and Aysegul Uzan.

THERE COULD BE KURDISH COURSES IN SCHOOLS, SAYS TANRIKULU
Leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu said that he would end clashes in south-eastern Turkey and bring peace and tranquility. Deputy Chairman of CHP, Sezgin Tanrikulu, said that there could be Kurdish courses in schools and courses in other mother tongues. Tanrikulu said that such courses would receive the support of the government.

AK PARTY CLOSE TO 50 PERCENT
A survey conducted by a private company in Turkey showed that the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party will receive 48 percent of the votes at the June 12 elections. According to the same survey, the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) would receive 25.3 percent of the votes while the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) would receive 10.8 percent of the votes.
WE WILL CONSTRUCT 15,000 KILOMETERS OF HIGHWAYS BY 2023, SAYS ERDOGAN
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that in the past 8.5 years they constructed 13,600 kilometers of highways in Turkey. "We will construct an additional 15,000 kilometers of highways by the year 2023," Erdogan said.
