27 DAYS AHEAD OF GENERAL ELECTIONS
Adil Gur of the A&G Company has commented about the upcoming general elections. According to surveys carried out by the company, the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party will get 45-50 percent of votes. "The Republican People's Party (CHP) can reach 30 percent and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) can exceed the electoral threshold of 10 percent. The AK Party will win the elections in some provinces in the western and southern parts of Turkey. The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) can have 28-32 seats at the parliament," he commented.   

DO NOT TOUCH MY INTERNET
Thousands of people took to the streets to protest a decision by the Information & Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) to apply four different internet filtering systems throughout the country as of August 22. Thousands of internet users joined protests in 36 provinces and chanted slogans "don't touch my internet".

FORMER MINISTERS SHOULD MAKE STATEMENT
The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu said that former ministers who were not included in the candidate list of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party for the upcoming general elections on the ground that they were involved in acts of corruption should make statement on the matter. Kilicdaroglu said that Kursad Tuzmen, Hilmi Guler, Osman Pepe and Kemal Unakitan were among the names who were not included in the list, stating that if they did not make a statement, they would admit that they were involved in corruption.

TENSION IN SIRNAK
There was tension in southeastern province of Sirnak where 12 PKK terrorists were killed. A group of people from Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) wanted to make a statement in front of governor's office. Demonstrations were held in the province.

CELIK THINKS THAT CHP DID NOT CHANGE
The ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party deputy chairman Huseyin Celik told Radikal that the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) did not use some discourses such as secularism or reaction and it was a positive thing. However Celik still thinks that CHP did not change. "I think that strategy in CHP did not change. It is a Kemalist party and state party," Celik said. 

POLITICIANS TO GATHER UNDER GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF TOBB
Political leaders will gather within the scope of the general assembly meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) on Monday. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicardoglu will address the participants of the general assembly meeting.
