NEW SEATING ORDER
Seating order has also changed in the National Security Council (MGK) after the Supreme Military Board. Earlier, military members sat as a bloc on one side of the table, but in Thursday's meeting of MGK, civilian and military members of the council sat on both sides of the table in accordance with the order required by state protocol. Gen. Necdet Ozel attended the meeting with the title of Chief of General Staff for the first time. Turkish Ambassador in Damascus Omer Onhon and National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan also attended the meeting of MGK.
FUNERALS HELD FOR MARTYRS
Funeral ceremonies took place in southeastern province of Hakkari and eastern province of Van for Turkish soldiers who were martyred in a terrorist attack in Cukurca town of Hakkari. After funerals, their bodies were taken to their hometowns.

Two separate ceremonies were held in the southeastern province of Hakkari and the eastern province of Van for the eight soldiers who were killed in an ambush by PKK terrorists in Cukurca town of Hakkari two days ago. Speaking at the ceremony in Van, Gen. Levent Kose said, "we are suffering a big pain. Our sadness is as big as mountains but we will hold our head high. We did not surrender to violence, and we will never do." The bodies of the soldiers were sent to their hometowns after the ceremonies.
STRATEGY IS GETTING TOUGHER
PKK terrorist organization achieved to carry Turkey back to its dark days by increasing its attacks. Discussing the new strategy, National Security Council (MGK) decided to use fruitful and effective methods in fight against terrorism. MGK said that all sides should distance themselves from the acts of the separatist terrorist organization.
Meanwhile, General Staff said, "operations will continue until the terrorist organization, which uses the north of Iraq as a shelter, will be neutralized."

Turkish war planes launched a second air offensive to PKK camps in the north of Iraq. On Thursday night, a second air strike was conducted and Turkish war planes hit camps of PKK in Qandil Mountain, Kharkurk, Avashin-Bashyan, Zap and Metina.
NOT DEATHS BUT POLITICS SOLVE IT
Funeral ceremonies for soldiers, who were martyred in terrorist attack in Cukurca town of southeastern province of Hakkari, were held in Hakkari and Van. The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu paid a visit to Ismail Basayar, father of major Yavuz Basayar who was killed in the terrorist attack. Basayar told Kilicdaroglu that politicians should come together and solve the matter.
