GUNES OFFENDED
Trabzonspor soccer club's coach Senol Gunes had been sent to tribunes due to the reaction he showed against the referee during his team's game against Besiktas. Gunes said, "I may not be on the fields again."

GOAL RAINS IN ANKARA
Fenerbahce soccer team defeated Genclerbirligi 4-2 in a Spor Toto Super League game in Ankara yesterday. With this result, Fenerbahce took back the leadership seat in the league.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS COWARDICE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "women abuse is the worst. Nobody can justify it." Participating in women's congress, Erdogan defined violence against women as "remorselessness and cowardice".

TURKISH PREMIER DENOUNCES VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday participated in a meeting to mark March 8th, the International Women's Day. The Turkish premier was greeted by a shower of roses at the venue of meeting, which was hosted by a workers' union. Erdogan harshly criticized use of violence against women. "This cannot be legitimized in any way. Resorting to violence against women is simply cowardice," Erdogan said.

JUSTICE MINISTER REJECTS PROBE PETITION ON OPPOSITION FIGURE
Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin has turned down a request to launch a probe into remarks by Suheyl Batum, a major figure with Turkey's main opposition CHP, under the Article 301 of the country's penal code. "He will not be probed over his remarks," Ergin told reporters. A prosecutor in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak has asked the justice minister to give clearance to indict Batum who has likened the Turkish Armed Forces to "a tiger made out of paper."

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS SHAMEFULNESS
Speaking at the 16th Women Convention of Turk Metal Union, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said discrimination was bad but discrimination against women was the worst and inhumane.
Erdogan said there has been zero tolerance against torture, and violence against women and children in the past 8 years. Erdogan said 30 women MPs of Justice & Development (AK) Party would increase more during the elections on June 12.

WE WILL BUILD OUR OWN SATELLITE
Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim announced satellite and space strategy of the government. He said, "we will procure two satellites in 2013 and 2014. We are starting initiatives to manufacture TURKSAT 5A in Turkey. We are targeting to be among to ten in space activities."
