Turkish film director Akarcesme wins award in New York

NEW YORK - Turkish director Ali Yasin Akarcesme received the "best drama award" at New York's Brownish Film Festival with his film "Departures". Speaking to the AA, Akarcesme said that his film "Departures" firstly entered the list of top six drama films at the Brownish Film Festival. This was a great success for me, to be able to share my film with New York residents. Receiving the 'best drama award' from the jury made me very happy, Akarcesme said. New York is a city with tough competition among film makers. Receiving an award in such a city was a happy occasion. My film is on display at various film festivals, Akarcesme also said.
