TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER'S BOOK IN ARABIC VERSION PROMOTED IN QATAR

DOHA (A.A) - 20.10.2010 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attended an event for promotion of the Arabic version of his book "Strategic depth: Turkey's international position" in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday.
Iraqi Vice President Tariq Al-Hashimi and Qatari officials attended the event hosted by the Al Jazeera Centre for Studies.
Delivering a speech, Davutoglu said that he tried to reinterpret history in a region surrounding Turkey in his book.
"Although it is about Turkish foreign policy, it can be practiced in all countries," he said.
"Turkey does not belong to a single geography but it is an Asian, Middle Eastern, Caucasian, Balkan, Black Sea and Mediterranean country. All these regions are important for regional stability, peace and prosperity," he said.
Davutoglu said, "in my book, I said we need a new approach which I call strategic depth. It means that we should not be limited with our borders and we should re-integrate with regional countries."
Davutoglu said he considered that Arabic version of his book could help theoretical discussions in Arab world. "Because I cannot see any difference between Turkey and Arab world. We will keep living together," he said.
"Our region will be the most attractive region in regard to economy, politics and culture within the next 10 or 20 years. We will have a golden era," he said.
