Turkish People's donation to Africa reach 33 million TL

ANKARA (A.A) - August 10, 2011 - Turkish people have donated 33 million Turkish lira (nearly $18 million) in an effort to help Somali people suffering from severe shortage of food and water.  
Prime Ministry Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management said that Turkish people donated 32.82 million TL at bank accounts opened by the Prime Ministry and the Directorate of Religious Affairs. 
According to the UN reports, some 12 million people face death because of famine and draught in the Horn of Africa.
