I'LL QUIT POLITICS, IF I DON'T KEEP PROMISES IN 4 MONTHS
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu spoke at his party's election rally in the north-eastern province of Rize. He said, "we will adopt a law which will give share from national income to retired people. We will launch initiatives to reduce military service term to nine months. If I don't keep the promises I gave, I will quit both leadership of the party and the politics in the first four months."

OPPOSITION TO MEET IN ANTALYA
Syrian opposition who are against Bashar al-Asad administration are getting prepared to gather in Turkey's southern province of Antalya in the end of May. 275 rooms were reserved in five-star Falez Hotel for the gathering. Commenting on the gathering, Debka web-site, which is close to Israeli intelligence circles, said, "Ankara broke ties with Damascus."

KILICDAROGLU TO ANNOUNCE PROJECT IN DIYARBAKIR
There is the "Social Consensus and National Integration Project" behind Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu's recent remarks regarding autonomous municipalities. Kilicdaroglu will make public his party's project in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir. Speaking to Milliyet daily columnist Fikret Bila regarding his statement on autonomous municipalities, Kilicdaroglu said, "This is not an autonomy like the one in the north of Iraq. This is a promise to strengthen local administrations in line with EU standards. In fact, EU's requirement on such issue had been approved by the Turkish parliament at the time, however, certain reservations had been expressed". CHP chairman is expected to announce the project on May 30.

COUNCIL OF STATE STOPS +24 AGE LIMIT FOR ALCOHOL 
Turkey's Council of State has decided for the stay of execution of several provisions of the alcohol regulation which has given rise to a huge public reaction. The court annulled the provision prohibiting "the sale and introduction of alcoholic drinks to people under the age of 24 at events sponsored by alcoholic beverage companies". Council of State also ruled that grocery stores, supermarkets and kiosks will be able to sell alcoholic beverages of up to 20 cl per bottle.

GAZIANTEP'S REVOLUTION IN EXPORTS
The faces of exporters in south-eastern Turkey are smiling after the Turkish government assumed a "zero problem" policy with the neighboring countries. The province of Gaziantep has sent 53 companies to Turkey's top 1,000 exporters. With such figures, Gaziantep ranked the fourth in Turkey with the most number of exporters in top 1,000. The exporters of Istanbul went down by 52 in the last four years.

ANKARA SURPRISE: GUNEYKENT
Following the project for Istanbul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan introduced his projects which will change the feature of capital Ankara. The most interesting one is Guneykent –-a settlement site for 500,000 people. However, Erdogan did not mention the place of this site. Among the projects for Ankara, there is a modern stadium of 40,000 people capacity, a modern city instead of shanty houses in Mamak district, metro, high-speed train and Europe's biggest hospital campus.

HE'S READING THE MURDER HE COMMITTED
Ogun Samast, hitman in the murder of Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink, appeared at Juvenile Court with two books he was carrying with him in yesterday's trial session. The books "Codes of Hrant Dink Operation" and "Nationalism, Media and Hrant Dink Murder" were about the murder he committed. During the trial, when asked whether anybody helped him, Samast surprised the judge and said, "even State Security Court could not find out this in 4.5 years, how will a Juvenile Court do?"

KILICDAROGLU MAKES A PROMISE
Leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, was in the north-eastern province of Rize on Wednesday. Addressing a large crowd in Rize, Kilicdaroglu said that he would resign from his post if he could not fulfill his promises within four months after the CHP formed the government.

"ERDOGAN ERASES AL-ASAD"
An Israeli web site, Debkafile, has argued that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a secret directive to end relations with the Damascus administration. The web site also argued that Turkey gave permission to the Syrian opposition to convene in Turkey.

SISTER CITY PROJECT TO TURKISH CAPITAL
After announcing his party's projects to build "two new cities" in Istanbul, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made public another project envisaging the construction of a new city in the Turkish capital of Ankara. Erdogan said the new premises to be named "Guneykent" would accommodate nearly 500,000 people, adding that such city would not be a satellite town but a major center of Ankara.

I AM YOUNG, INSECURE & HOPEFUL
A survey conducted in 35 provinces of Turkey has revealed that young people do not trust in any institutions or have any idols, however, they have hopes. According to the survey, youngsters do not confide in institutions like the army, police, parliament, jurisdiction or the media. Majority of young people stick firmly to traditions, while nearly 50 percent of them expressed hope for the future.

The government has new projects about capital Ankara: a new site will be set up for 500,000 people. Ankara will be a center of radar, space and satellite. Justice palaces and health centers will be built.

YOUTH HOPEFUL ABOUT FUTURE
Istanbul Kultur University and KONDA conducted a survey among 2,366 young individuals aged between 16 and 30 in five provinces and asked them about their thoughts on the future. 6 out of every 10 young individuals expressed that they expected their lives to be much better in five years. The young people have the least confidence in the sector of media.

TURKS SPEND 10.5 BLN TL ON COSMETICS AND CLEANING PRODUCTS
Chairman of the Association of Cosmetics and Cleaning Products Industrialists (KTSD), Ahmet Pura, said that the cosmetics and cleaning products market in Turkey continued to grow in 2010. According to Pura, Turks spent 10.5 billion Turkish liras (TL) on cosmetics and cleaning products in 2010.

SPACE BASE ANKARA
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that capital Ankara would be turned into a defense, space and satellite base. "We will make our capital a brand city which will be a role model for the world", he said.
Erdogan revealed 12 "crazy projects" concerning the Turkish capital, including the construction of a new city to be named "Guneykent" which will accommodate nearly 500,000 people. Erdogan said a new stadium at UEFA standards and with 40,000 capacity would also be built in Ankara.

The terrorist organization, which forces shopkeepers to take down their shutters, prevents municipal services and declares a curfew, acts violent against Kurdish people who have taken a deep breath thanks to the discharge of JITEM forces.
