Two Iranian cultural productions introduced in Naminara

TEHRAN,July 1(MNA) -- A Persian book and a short documentary film on Kang Woo Hyon, the president of the Naminara Republic, have been introduced during a ceremony in the micronation. “The One Million Dollar President” directed by Iranian filmmaker Alireza Bahrami was screened during the ceremony, which was attended by Kang and a number of the people of republic. Naminara is a micronation established in 2006 as a culturally-focused tourism booster for the privately-owned island of Nami, which is situated in the Han River, in the South Korean city of Chuncheon. Kang is a graphic designer, who receives only an equivalent amount of one dollar for his position of president, Bahrami had previously said in an interview. “Who Am I?”, which contains some writings by Kang and his graphic designs, was also unveiled during the ceremony. The book has been compiled by Puneh Nedaii, an Iranian poet and translator of Korean works. “Kang is an artist who has reached a unity of that which is in his mind with what is external, and we Iranians understand this unity in its mystical aspects,” Nedaii said at the ceremony. “In my view, Kang’s outlook on life is remarkably similar to the Iranian mysticism. Thus I hope I can translate more of his works,” she added. Speaking at the ceremony, Kang thanked Nedaii for the efforts she has made to familiarize Iranian artists with the Naminara Republic. “I am really proud that my works have been published in a book in such a nice country like Iran, which enjoys a profound culture,” he said.
