Two Iranians Undergo Trial For Drug Trafficking

Sukabumi, W Java, Sept 2 (Antara) - Two Iranians underwent an initial trial after being accused of international drug trafficking at the State`s Court of Cibadak, Pelabuhan Ratu, West Java, on Tuesday. The two defendants were charged with the possession of 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and were arrested by the National Narcotic Agency, BNN. The drug enforcement unit caught the two defendants while they were digging up their haul within the Tangkuban Perahu Reservation Park after covering their tracks from a car accident that took place earlier. One of the defendants, Sayed Hashem Moosavipour was charged under the Narcotics Act for possessing narcotic drugs, and was also accused of being an international drug dealer. During the trial, Hashem was assisted by a translator and a lawyer and the court was heavily guarded by dozens of Sukabumi Police personnel.
