UAE ambassador stresses robustness of relations across all areas with Bahrain

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the specificity of the relations between the UAE and the Kingdom stems from the distinguished fraternal relations between the leaderships of the two countries.
Their social relations and common ties within the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab and Islamic worlds have also contributed to the strong bonds between the two countries and to the convergence of their views and orientations, the ambassador said in a statement marking Bahrain’s National Days.
“It gives us immense pleasure to congratulate His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the brotherly people of Bahrain on the glorious National Day and the anniversary of HM the King’s accession to the throne. We pray to Allah Almighty to protect Bahrain and its people and to perpetuate its joys, security and stability,” Shaikh Sultan said.
The ambassador emphasized that the occasion is an opportunity for us to celebrate the sincere fraternity, the shared history and common destiny that bind the United Arab Emirates with Bahrain.
The two countries possess historical relations that extend for decades and have been growing strongly over the years, thanks to God and to the resolve of their leaderships.
The diplomat said that relations between the two countries are based on mutual support in most cases and indicated that the UAE-Bahrain Joint Committee, set up in 2000, has had a major role in promoting and developing cooperation in all political, economic, commercial, investment, military, cultural, tourism, media, social, health, environment, energy, transport and communication fields.
The economic relations between the two countries are steadily developing in the fields of trade exchange, joint investments and cooperation in the sectors of finance, business, tourism, oil and energy, in light of the exchange of high-level official visits and trade and investment delegations.
The volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached $2.4 billion in non-oil commodities in 2019, the ambassador said.
