UAE praises Thai labour's performance

UNITED ARAB EMITATES, Oct 18 (TNA) -- The United Arab Emirates praises Thai workers during a visit of the Thai labour minister and agrees to improve bilateral labour agreements. During the visit, Thai Labour Minister Sirichai Distakul met Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, UAE Minister of Labour and Chairman of National Qualifications Authority. The UAE minister said Thai workers impressed local employers for their work skills, friendliness and service mind and they did not pose as many problems as workers from other countries. He also said that UAE was ready to import more skilled workers from Thailand. The UAE minister also promised to cooperate on the exchange of experiences and academic information and review bilateral labour agreements. He proposed a working group be formed to look into the matters. Gen Sirichai said the UAE government shared with the Labour Ministry the intention to protect workers and develop human resources to meet industrial demands and respond to technological development.
