UAE RCA allocates Dh14.5 million to enhance human development in 30 states

Abu Dhabi: The Higher Committee for Foreign Aid at the Red Crescent Authority, RCA, has allocated Dh14.5 million to enhance the fields of human development, support the implementation of vital projects and provide medical aid to benefit people in 30 countries around the world. Among these assistance packages were a Dh8.8 million Zakat donation directed to Islamic funds, Dh4.5 million allocated to a number of educational, social and service institutions, and Dh1.1 m as therapeutic aid to about 51 patients to support them in overcoming chronic health conditions. The commission considered many applications submitted to it by brotherly and friendly countries and approved the implementation of many of them. Naima Al Muhairi, Deputy Secretary-General for Relief and Projects at the RCA, stressed that the aid represents a priority for the authority due to its vital role in meeting the needs of targeted recipients abroad in the areas of health, education and supporting services. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
